Located conveniently between Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds, in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, Alpheton Village Hall provides a flexible venue and rehearsal space for clubs and family parties. Hall hire is available to parish residents, non-residents and businesses.

Events run at the hall are run for the benefit of the local community and are open to all.

Set against the turbulent backdrop of 1976 Argentina on the brink of a military coup, Tom (played by Oscar nominee Steve Coogan), a cynical and disillusioned English teacher, takes a job at an elite boys' boarding school managed by a dapper, traditional headmaster (Jonathan Pryce). Expecting an easy, quiet life avoiding the outside world, Tom's perspective is entirely turned upside down when he rescues a solitary, oil-slicked penguin from a beach.

Naming his new flippered companion Juan Salvador, Tom smuggles the bird back to the school. What follows is a profoundly moving journey; the charming penguin quickly transforms from a secret pet into an emotional rescue anchor for the entire campus. Through Juan Salvador's eyes, a misanthropic teacher learns to connect with his unteachable students, a divided community finds joy, and one man experiences a powerful personal and political awakening.
