Located conveniently between Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds, in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, Alpheton Village Hall provides a flexible venue and rehearsal space for clubs and family parties. Hall hire is available to parish residents, non-residents and businesses.

Events run at the hall are run for the benefit of the local community and are open to all.

Academy Award winner Kate Winslet stars as Lee Miller, the pioneering American model-turned-photojournalist who defied the rules of the 1940s to capture the raw, devastating truth of World War II.

Frustrated by the restrictions placed on female correspondents on the home front, Lee Miller pushes boundaries to embed herself with Allied forces. Equipped with her trusty Rolleiflex camera and an unyielding empathy for the voiceless victims of war, she captures some of the most significant and shocking images of the 20th century—including her infamous, defiant photograph in Hitler’s private bathtub. But documenting the atrocities of the Nazi regime comes at an enormous personal price, forcing her to confront the trauma of her own past.

For the past few weeks, students from University College London (UCL), alongside local volunteers and school groups, have been excavating the fascinating Alpheton Roman Villa complex.

This is a wonderful opportunity to see local history come alive, ask questions, and hear directly from the archaeologists before they pack up their trowels.

All proceeds from the evening will be divided between the upkeep of Alpheton Village Hall and the vital research of the British Heart Foundation.
